Hey, I want to announce the new classes that we will be launching at the Hualalai Sports Club and Spa next month. One that is really exciting is called, "Ocean Pilates". Stand Up Paddling has been a big hit all over the country, especially for those of us who live near the ocean. In this class, we will walk to Kona Village beach and get out SUP's and paddle out into the bay and reflect on what the elements will bring us (sky, earth and water) and what we are willing to be open to (mind, body and spirit). We will actually do a pilates class using the pad
I hadn’t put much thought into the colors or design of my home until recently. My husband and I reno’d our bathroom and since then I’ve had the design bug. This urge to really make my home my sanctuary.
You may achieve success in your first attempt, yet most will accomplish true success from repeated efforts done consistently over and over again. If you can do it once, you can do it again. This week’s meditation – 13 Principles of Meditation
1) Set aside a special place for meditation - the atmosphere you build up will help to still your mind.
2) Choose a time when your mind is fairly free of everyday concerns - dawn and dusk are ideal.
3) Choosing the same time and place each day conditions the mind to slow down more quickly.
“You expected to be sad in the fall. Part of you dies each year when leaves fell from their branches, were bare against the wind and cold, wintry light. But you knew there would always be the spring, as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen.” I can imagine Hemingway as he wrote these words, feet propped up in his fishing boat floating along the Florida Keys. He truly captured the spirit of spring. After the death of what was, spring literally and figuratively represents life anew.
Probably one of my least favorite things to do is grocery shop. There are just so many challenges in grocery shopping. We are constantly being sidetracked by all the many BOGO's, seasonal promotions, in-store deli specials, never mind the tastings that may be cooking at the time I happen to be shopping. I wonder if the music they play carries subliminal messages "buy one of each".
I'll share a few things that do help me out while shopping. First, I never shop hungry. That is a big no no for me. Hunger makes me cave into the temptations all around the store.
