2 days and counting cannot wait to hit LA and this years convention. I have my checklist and a notebook. Taking alot of interesting workshops this year. As always IDEA is a must to spice up my teaching for the year.
Cross-training is the most beneficial way for anyone to stay fit. The muscles need to be shocked and confused in order to gain strength, range of motion, functional ability and flexibility. Equally as important, it prevents boredom and plateaus. It is exciting to mix up your work-outs and try something new. Get out of your comfort zone. If someone asked me what my favorite physical activity is, I would have to say I don’t have a favorite.
Well, my radio show has been up and running for the past month and a half. I have already learned so much from the experience. The thing that most stands out to me is that there are so many health care options out there. This is a hard mindset to overcome, when we are conditioned to thinking that conventional medicine is the only one out there. In addition to there being many viable complementary options, there are so many other whole medical models for us to choose from. Regardless of one’s activity level, the body’s muscles can feel tight from time to time and impact its ability to move freely through space. Spot reduction is the idea that focusing on 1 muscle group will make you lose weight and tone that particular muscle group. The best example is doing a high number of abdominal exercises, trying to reduce belly fat. While doing abdominal exercises will help stregthen your core, it will not do much in the way of weight loss or reducing your abdominal fat. Check out this ACE fit link for more information.
