Winter is often a time when people exercise less. This is due to the cold, often gloomy weather. Alot of people look to the sun, beach, park and pool for exercise and motivation. It is easy to lose motivation, pack on the pounds and acquire a flabby backside! How do you plan to stay active? How committed are you to your fitness going into the winter? Many of my clients turn to Spinning and yoga classes, snow shoeing and of course, "powder" (skiing). Some people continue their daily walks despite the rain, snow and cold.
Please be aware that the popular high-protein diets (defined as >30% of calories from protein) can pose significant health risks. The recommended daily intake of protein is 15-30% of total calories for the average person, or 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight (g/kg) per day. However, athletes such as professional body builders, and endurance athletes, such as ultra-marathoners, could have increased protein requirements of between 1.0 and 2.0g (protein) per kg (body weight) per day during training for competition. This is my first attempt at writing something so I chose to start with some of my favorite dishes that will serve your health well.
I like to use the seasons to guide my meals so i look for the freshest ingredients to start with. I try to stick with whole organic wild foods if available and that typically is called a hunter/gatherer diet, nothing comes in a package. This way I know for sure my meals are "clean" so to speak.
As for the season, it is Fall and fish here in the Northwest are the best in the world, (my opinion of course).
As trainers, our clients expect a lot from us. Sometimes what we’re legally certified to do isn’t in line with something that a client needs. A lot of us aren’t legally allowed to give recommendations on certain things, and the types of clients we’re allowed to work with are often limited by our certifications. I’m not an advocate of stepping outside of scope of practice, however I do recognize the demands placed on trainers.
Below is a testimonial from a client of mine that I wanted to share every where that I can. Not because it is a testimonial about working with me, but for the reason that this client is my hero everyday as well. He is an inspiration to me and I hope everyone! I am a Wounded Warrior…

ON- ON- ON!!!!!! I am ON!! It's so fun to feel ON~ workouts, life, work, responsibilities, hobbies, etc...all get done with ease when I am ON!!Have you ever wondered why some days you are just ON and others you are OFF??I've narrowed down my OFF days to the following problems:
After years of wanting to add a dog to my life I finally did it!!! She is so sweet and thinks I am the best thing ever! I can do no wrong! I went to the Rochester Humane society and picked up Zoe seven weeks ago. She makes my husband and I laugh every day. She has become my husbands morning treadmill. (even though he never wanted a dog) Best of all, because she is a year old, she came all potty trained, doesn't chew on anything but bones and doesn't drag me along on the leash. An excellent benefit for those of us who want a dog but don't have time to do the puppy phase.
