Remember the buddy system that they made you use while you were growing up? Well with trying to lose weight I highly suggesting using a buddy system to help keep you going and to push pass the cravings and the days that you just want to give up because you hit a plateau. There are several reasons that setting up a buddy to help you reach your fitness goals.1) Support (its not always easy to stay on track if the people around you aren't on the same track and are always eating unhealthy and trying to keep you from working out)
It’s been only a few weeks since I wrote a blog about fascia, calling it a Cinderella story. No more. If there was one thing that struck me at the last IDEA World Fitness Convention in August 2011, it was the frequent mentioning of fascia by the presenters of the conference.
How do you define success? If you read my first blog post, you know that I define it by much much more than just financial wealth (although that certainly has it's place too).

The stretching and twisting of a meditative Yoga class is a very calming experience. With regular Yoga practice, we gain optimal body awareness through deep focus on breathing and posture. We also develop the postural balance that's oh so important for avoiding injury, both now and as we age. Even better, experts say, twisting and turning the spine during Yoga classes reverses the signs of aging.
This is probably my tenth attempt at a blog. Thus far I have given up on all of them. The posts for the past blogs ended in 2001, 2004, 2008 etc. But this one will be different. Because this blog will not be about solely what I know, but more importantly, what I believe.
This is a question I get a lot.I mean it's either cardio or strength training or both - right? Well, at a high level, sure. But if you really want your workouts to be the most effective, understanding the type of cardio and strength training you're doing is key.Wait, the hours on the treadmill or stair climber and doing countless sets of heavy lifting isn't going to get me where I want to be?
