Summer is a great time to get your workout in gear as those early morning runs (while temperature is still kind of cool) are really nice as is changing up your indoor workout and hitting the pool for some laps. It's also a great time to cleanse your body and incorporate new seasonal fruits and vegetables into your diet! In season starting in June:  Asparagus, Green Beans, Strawberries, Raspberries, Cucumbers, Green Beans.  Seasonal Map by Epicurious.com

Summer Time

By Kristal Bradshaw
Is your workout getting boring and hard to complete? Or have you gotten to the point that you don't even want to go to the gym? It's summer time which is the perfect time to spice up your workout. Instead of hitting the gym this weekend head out to your local national parks and hike the trails. The different types of terrain will work several different muscle groups. You can vary the intensity of your workout by trying different trails that very in difficulty.

Spring Thing in Michigan

By Beth Albert-Quinley
Finally, this feels like spring! Beautiful night on the deck with a turkey burger and small (yes, really small) glass of wine. I live for this weather. Flowers are planted and the humming birds are back at my feeders. Now for the bathing suit body! Well, I am in the best shape I can be in. I have worked so hard to reach my fitness goals! Back to tennis, teaching and sharing my knowledge about fitness, which is my PASSION! The progress my clients have made astounds me! Yet, it shouldn't. I work hard to help them reach their goals! That is true progress! Keep keeping on...

Just Diet June!

By Michelle Berger
I did it!! I did at least an 11 minute workout EVERY DAY IN MAY- I think I only had to resort to the 11 min version 2-3 times and about 4-5 of those workouts were long hikes in the woods- It's not like I hit the gym for a crazy intense lifting workout every day...it was a good variety of workouts!!!

Spring cleaning

By Angela Prather
Today, I thought about how we "Spring clean" our houses, garages, cars, yards, etc.  Some of us may even do a Spring detox for our bodies.  These are all great things to do and we usually feel much better after accomplishing them.  Something else to consider "spring cleaning" would be people that we associate with.  Are there people in your life that always are negative, critical, depressed, complaining, talking about others?????  Maybe, just maybe, it's time to limit the time you hang around them.  If you spend time with them and leave

National Running Day!

By Ali Webb
June 1st is National Running Day.I've been a "runner" off and on since high school. Back then I wanted to participate in a sport but had few skills, so I found my place on the track team. I ended up being a decent member of the team, not because of any God-given talent but because of sheer determination.
