It looks like a great idea at first, but it has some flaws.... Such as the food industry announced its own approaceh even though the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FDA have already commissioned an objective expert committee. So you know what's really out there - Check out the article from The New Engalnd Journal of Medicine..http://healthpolicyandreform.nejm.org/?p=14791&query=TOC

How Do You Decide What to Read?

By Megan Merchant
www.meganmerchant.com Recently on Facebook I shared my trial to cut down on my shower time.  The main reason is that lately my "to read" pile is growing faster than I can keep up!  My 2 year old has quit napping and my 5 year old is two months from Kindergarten.  Luckily for the next blissful two weeks, I have 25 minutes of reading time at their combined City Pool swim lessons.

Calcium and Heart Disease

By Lynsay Ryan
Calcium supplements may raise the risk of heart attacks, says a new study. But the results are bfafflign and no cause for panic. The Women's Health Initiative was a randomized clinical trial that gave roughly 36,00 postmenopausal women calcium (1,000 mg) plus vitamin D (400 IU( or a placebo every day for seven years. Since the women didn't know if they were in teh calcium group or the placebo group, ,the researchers allowed those who were taking calcium when they entered the study to continue it on their own.  Roughly half did.

KidneyP90X Day 10

By Denise Ricker
I had two good days of very minimal discomfort, but this morning I tried to go out for a run for the first time since June 12 with very uncomfortable pain.  The medication puts you in a "stupor" and you don't want to do much of anything other than sleep.  The meds also wreck havoc on other parts of your body.  I drank at least 50 ounces of water within 5 hours, how much do I have to drink?  I do plan to attempt to go for a run with one of my friends tomorrow morning.  I hope this case of having to meet someone will get me out of this rut with the meds
