Think you are too old for a two-piece?

By Robin Bunio
It seems like there are always debates and opinions floating around about when a woman is too old to wear a bikini.   According to one recent posting, women my age should not be wearing a bikini.  Do I agree?  No. Instead of focusing on age appropriateness in wearing a bikini, we should address the issue from a fitness standpoint.  Rather than ask someone else or adhere to the latest opinion polls, why not ask yourself these questions: Do I exercise regularly?

Pre workout energizer

By Michelle Carlson
This shake can be made about 45 minutes prior to your workout. It has just the right amount of carbs for quick energy and proteins for longer lasting energy and muscle repair. If you're workout exceeds an hour you can always drink more during. It's easy on the stomach too.Ingredients:6 oz plain, no sugar added soy milk1 tablespoon natural peanut butter1 heaping scoop whey protein powder (vanilla works best)1 tablespoon chocolate syrup (low sugar)2-4 ounces black coffee2 tablespoons cooked oatmeal

Way Up High

By Julia Rigler
My visit to Zion National Park in May included a not to be missed up to Angels Landing, a 4 hour round trip hike that would make a vertical climb of 1500 feet. Using controlled breathing techniques (pursed lip breathing) improved my stamina and overall enjoyment.

Want to lose weight?

By Adrienne Vose
It is not rocket science, calorie deficit = weightloss. If you want to lose weight, consume less calories then you burn. Cut the calories but be sure they aren't too low. Seek a professional to figure out the amount of calories that are right for you! Also keep in mind it is not recommended to lose more then 2lbs per week.

I finished...

By Kristen Kindred
Well... I ran the 1/2 marathon finishing with a time of 1:56.  Not bad but so wish I would have trained. I needed to prepare for the many hills I didn't know about and the heat.  It was a great race though, over 8000 people.  I have to be honest, around the 8th mile I was thinking of ways to stop, pretend I got injured, act like I was dehydrated and fall to the side, pass out maybe?  All those thoughts were going through my mind.. Why didn't I train?  Well, I am not a quitter so I kept going.  It was probably the hardest race for me but I finished.

SKLZ Baseball Swing Trainers

By Wayne Kalde
To develop your swing technique and bat speed I highly recommend the SKLZ Hit-A-Way portable training station and Hurricane swing trainers. I frequently use both of these pieces of equipment. They are both compact and easy to set up and take down. The Hit- A-Way PTS works well to develop swing technique, bat speed and hand eye coordination. The Hurricane is great for developing swing power and swing technique.
