Our president and first lady have come up with an amazing initiative called Joining Forces. In todays world all too many times we don't realize that the ones we can rely on most are our neighbors and community. All of us are struggling in one way or another..but the ones that are out there doing selfless acts are being over looked. Our military men and women and their families struggle everyday while at the same time protecting us. These men and women are selflessly risking their lives for our safety. I want to give back anyway I can.
Today is my birthday. I'm not 29, but that's what I tell people! I've gotten to the age where it's obviously not true so why do I keep saying that? Well, aside from being funny, it's how old I still feel!! Well, that's not actually true. I feel better than I did when I was 29! When I was 29 years old, I was a smoker, weekend partier, non-exercising, junk-food loving girl!! I didn't feel unhealthy at the time but upon reflection I'm going to have to say that that is because I just didn't know any better!!!
I recently came across an article I had saved from 2001 (yes, 10 years ago!) on ways to eliminate excessive amounts of sugar from your diet. It is completely relevant today, if not more so, with our collective consumption of sugar ever on the rise. The toxicity of excess sugar may be debatable to some, but what can't be debated is the worsening health crisis in this country. I'll be posting 10 tips from the article with some additional thoughts of my own, one at a time. I think these are great, practical suggestions.
