Getting started is the hardest part... by Laura McDonald

By Laura Markham McDonald
I hear this lament from so many of my clients, friends, even family members.  And I get it! When you get out of the habit of exercise and healthy living, it can be downright overwhelming, intimidating, even scary to get started again.  I've been there!  After gaining a ton of weight with each one of my three pregnancies I was facing a major uphill climb to lose 30-40 pounds and get back into shape.  Downright daunting to say the least.

Hooray for Spring

By Kathy Wilson
We have had some ferocious winter weather. I think we can all agree on that comment. It's time to blow away those cobwebs from all your time spent indoors. Spring is just around the corner and you may be thinking about a Spring Break vacation and wearing your summer shorts and short sleeve shirts. I would love to help you get "beach ready". I have a plan to get you the body you have always wanted. You will be strolling along the beach holding your head high, proud of your new physique. One-on-one packages and small group sessions are available and affordable too!

Interested in a TRX Suspension Trainer?

By Dan Guthrie
One of my favorite pieces of fitness equipment is the TRX Trainer. It's a phenomonal way to work your core and create a lean, strong body. It's also great if you travel because it is super easy to pack in a suitcase as it is small and lightweight. The following link will take you to Fitness Anywhere's site where you can purchase the TRX suspension trainer as well as other accessories such as the door anchor so that you can use it at home or in your hotel. http://www.fitnessanywhere.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=buy-trx&AFFIL=26fQx520

Blue Ash Recreation Center Personal Trainers

By Dan Guthrie
I just want to take this opportunity to give a little "shout out" to the personal trainers that I work with at the Blue Ash Recreation Center. I work with not only some great trainers but some great people. It's a pleasure to know that I get the opportunity to work side by side with a group of professional and knowledgeable trainers who are as passionate about fitness and bettering people's lives as I am. :)

Wearing a Pedometer: My Awakening

By Megan Merchant
This is Part One of my new love/hate relationship with a Pedometer. What is a pedometer?  It is a tiny 1-2" device that counts the motion of your hips to guess the number of steps you take each day. A basic pedometer only counts steps, whereas more complex devices ask for your "stride length" which then computes your distance traveled in miles.
