...Rise and Shine!!!! Today at 0430 HRS Urban Boot Camp participants began their workout which consisted of Sled Dragging with an 80# load! That was in addition to hurdles, ab-crunch throws with a weighted med-ball and a whirl at the battling rope! Everyone embraced the challenge and did well! Today's workout indicates the level of improvement in 3 short weeks! Kudo's to you UBC'rs!!!!!
Why is it important to mix both cardio and strength training into your routine? The short and simple answer is that both forms of training effect your muscles differently and cause different long term effects on how your body uses the food that you provide it. Different types of training require different forms of fuel. If you are going for strength training you are going to want to go for more of a high protein diet so that your body has what it needs to repair the small tears that occur in your muscles during your weight lifting.
As a fitness professional and Studio owner, I hear over and over that the two obstacles that people face is time and money. How do I conquer this problem that is so daunting to so many people? Well, first its a choice. A serious choice that could affect your whole life. We all have the same amount of time in the day, week, month and so on, correct? Functional Fitness at its best!!! This morning we worked with a partner. Each persons job to was motivate and take their partner to 'the edge'. Well done UBC'rs!!! A little partner and team work with the med-ball was first on the agenda. Next was sandbags partner style! 18 and 36 lb. bags were used. Mostly 36! 2 weeks ago there were no 36lb bags on our playing field! This is functional fitness at its best!!!!!
