Its been way to long since I last wrote a blog but its been a pretty busy start to the new year but what better way to start then to give you all a great reading recommendation for the month of March so you can keep the new year motivation going in the right direction. I'm going to make this blog short and sweet as i will be written another post on the weekend. The book I want to recommend for your spring reading is called your personal paleo code. this book has been written by Chris Kresser and is without a doubt a fantastic read that will for sure give the needed insight in helping you maintain and progress towards your health and wellness goals. I loved how he touch on important topic that many health books out there avoid and kept simple and focused for your reading pleasure. I will say that this book is a really good read, but I will not spoil to much so please check it out in the below and enjoy the start of a wonderful healthy spring season

This week has been very busy… but after watching a video on YouTube that brought back memories about how major food companies use Cochineal beetles to dye many major food items, so I just had to post this blog to help raise more awareness about this ongoing problem. This issue has caused many health problems to countless amounts of people around the world including my own nephew that is still suffering from the aftereffects of this unnecessary & to be frankly honest disgusting Ingredient (if you can even call it that...) because if not treated early it could have long term effects on our health. I am personally really saddened by this issue because until today nothing has really been done in regards to clamping down and resolving this major issue. These food companies are still getting away by continuing to use this in the food items we eat.
However, we have the power to make the small changes in our lifestyle that will have a positive effect on our health. It is our responsibility to look after our health and to do so we need to take few seconds to read what we buy whenever we go grocery shopping and avoid this and many other health damaging ingredients. The most effective way I found that works best with many of my clients and even my little nephew is just sticking to what Mother Nature and God has provided us with by only Eating Real Food. I hope after reading this you will take away something positive and begin living healthier lifestyles if you haven’t already begun by applying small changes that matter, because what I realized early on in my health and fitness career is that we must respect our health first if we are to ever respect ourselves and live happier and healthier lives.

Well I'm back and I wanted to address a topic a lot of people have totally different opinions on. Times have changed a lot in the health industry in the last decade that created a lot of different groups seeking ultimately the same goal of living a healthy lifestyle. These groups all have very different opinions on what is considered healthy and what training methods are beneficial to our health. This takes me to my main point I want to talk about, which is the gym VS non gym workout's, I have heard many different people say that one is better than the other for example some people say that training in the gym with weights is the only way to get big & strong & others say how non gym workouts are more natural & functional for overall wellness...but honestly why does one have to be better or worst then the other?? because in my many years as a Personal trainer I have seen the benefits of both gym & non gym workout's in my time, so I believe These two methods of training are critical in helping us live healthier and happier lifestyles. This is regardless of whether or not we use one or both of these training methods. What truly matters is how we feel when we train and what health benefits we ultimately achieve.
I honestly believe there is no wrong answer here today and that both these methods of training have health benefits for us. So next time before you write off one method of training over another just think about giving it a shot It may surprise you how it could help you improve your health and lifestyle.
I will just leave you by saying If you have experience different results using another training method please leave your comments below on how it helped you so that it may help someone else Understand the health benefits of expanding their health and fitness horizon, this will hopefully help them try something different today to live healthier and happier lifestyles.

Today most of us wake up every morning to make ourselves breakfast and what do we end up preparing is a bowl of wholegrain cereal, but believe it or not breakfast cereals are not as healthy for us as we might believe(and I’m guilty of the cereal crime myself in the past). What we are told by our health authorities is very misleading but if we all took a little time to look into the research they have conducted to inform us of what is healthy and what is not we would come to find just as I have that it has no real scientific backing to be healthy as they claim to us.
I am sure many of you who are reading this might think how and why, well in today’s world we as people (most of us including myself in the past) take information that is relayed to us via media and governmental health bodies like the FDA as if its God‘s word without questioning the research instead we should like instead take a little time to look into the information and then make a real decision on how best to eat in order to live happy and healthy. I found that many of the new generation of young people would rather eat a quick breakfast like instant oats or cereal in place of more traditional breakfast like eggs and sausages, this kind of statistic drives me crazy because how can old food that our grandparents and ancestors have been eating for thousands of years create new diseases??? That in itself is impossible comprehend right!! Now take a moment a look at photos of your grandparents….see how healthy they look and how happy they lived a long life…now move two generations in the future and see how our generation is suffering from all kinds of diseases and illnesses and have a lower life expectance then our grandparents and what is crazy about this data is that in this period of the two generations our government and health authorities have reduced saturated fats on their recommended healthy pyramid diets to the lowest level to date but instead today we are suffering the highest level of cardiovascular diseases in human history…do you believe that!!
The most shocking thing that made me stop eating breakfast cereal was when I Read a book called wheat belly by Dr. William Davies that wrote about research that was conducted on mice that ate cereal only died due to lake on nutrition from the cereal and another research found that mice that ate wheat containing food had 64% chance of developing type 1 diabetes. I have done a simple comparison between today’s healthy breakfast and a traditional breakfast below:
