Imagine graduating from college and going into a career that you thought you would be very successful and be absolutely passionate for only to find out you hate it and your life is not where you expected it. I believe everyone going to college should have an internship befroe they graduate. No matter how many books and lectures you attend, you will never learn more than you will in an internship. This is reality. I learned that you really know something when you worked on it for 10,000 hours. Now, that is a long time, but 40 hours a week for 16 weeks doing what you love and are planning on doing, now that's what I call learning. This is the true test to finding out if you can see yourself doing this as a career or if it's not at all what you want, at least you can still change your mind while you are still in school.
I had the privledge to do my internship at Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego, California. This has been the best decision of my life. I have never met such passionate, educated, and awesome people in the fitness world. They opened my eyes to things I never thought about and I learn 10X the amount of information than I ever did in college. It was real, it was hard, but by far worth every hour I put into it! My experienced with FQ10 has enhanced my abilities to work with kids, athletes, and adults.
