Transform Your Heart…..Transform Your Health

“A tranquil heart is life to the body…”  from Proverbs 14:30

TRANSFORMED HEART IS A TRANQUIL HEART

A TRANQUIL HEART  IS A HEART FILLED WITH LOVE

LOVE  COMES FROM A

PURE HEART, CLEAR CONSCIENCE, SINCERE FAITH

THE RESULT IS FRUITS OF LOVE

FOR GOD, OTHERS, AND YOURSELF

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always

protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Carry “the BEAUTIFUL” with you…

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.”

What is “the beautiful”?  I believe “the beautiful” is the ability to see that you are “fearfully and wonderfully” made…if you can’t see the beauty of God’s creation within yourself…then how can you see it all around you?

To have “the beautiful”, your heart must first know that you have a creator who made you “fearfully and wonderfully”…and “know it very well” (from Psalms 139: 14).

If you read Psalms 139, you find that being able to see “the beautiful” within yourself, is the starting point for seeking and serving God.  It is what plants in one’s heart the seed of desire to be made pure, like your creator is, to have a pure heart filled with Love for God, others, and yourself.

Psalms 139:23-24 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” The Word of God points the way and is what can make our hearts pure, full of love, if we allow it to transform us.

How does this have anything to do with Pilates or transforming your health?

God has blessed us each with a physical body and a soul.   We have a responsibility to care for both. Our soul is our heart…a heart full of Love to God, others, and self is the goal. … God has given us a physical body, “the beautiful,” for the purpose of carrying our heart…our soul in this life.  So my ultimate goals are….

1-to encourage you to see “the beautiful”in you…and know it well

2-to encourage you to transform your heart to a “pure heart” filled with love

3-to help you strengthen “the beautiful” so you can carry with more

grace and ease.

“Marvelous are you works, and that my soul knows very well.”

From Psalms 139:14 “

“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;  Your mercy, O Lard, endures forever;  Do not forsake the works of your hands.”

Psalms 138:8

”’”Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;  And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.”  Psalms 139:23-24-8

Creator, Creation,

Soul

Seek God

the Way of God

1: Start a gratitude journal …this month commit to being more aware of how “fearfully and wonderfully made you are” write down 3 amazing things every day that you notice about your body…give praise and thanks to God for these blessings.

2:Replace negative self image …“Know it very well”…don’t allow the negative talk to displace how “fearfully and wonderfully” made you are…” find a positive phrase to replace negative thoughts when they pop in your head.

3:Ask for help …

Seek help from your creator…God will help to create in you “the beautiful” if your seek him. Determine to seek him thru prayer and study of his word…the Bible.

Commit to pray and study God’s Word for 15 minutes a day when you first wake up.

4:Open your heart to change ..to grow..you have to be willing to change. God teaches us thru his word how to have “the beautiful”…but each of us decides what we will do with what we learn.  As you learn better…write it down…study it thru…change your heart by lifting it to reflect God’s standard.

BREATHE

1-Concentrate:

Be present.  Our body and mind are a team.  Focus your mind on what your body is doing and give every exercise your full attention.

2-Breathe:

Connect your breath to movement.  Inhale as you prepare for the movement and exhale as o execute the movement.   Deep lateral breathing into the back and sides of the rib cage creates a free flow of cleansing oxygen-improving circulation, releasing tension, and helping to organize postural alignment of the skeleton.

CONNECT

3-Centering:

Stabilize and initiate movement from the deep abdominal muscles located at the center of the body.   The center is the safest and most effective starting place for movement, and focusing on it will transform how you move.

4-Control:

Control keeps movements from being careless and hazardous.  Do not use momentum to move the body-concentrate, breathe and use your core to initiate and complete each movement with precision.  Mastering control will help you get the most out of this method of training as well as prevent injury.

GROW

5-Precision:

Pilates emphasizes quality over quantity.   Precision is what makes Pilates so sufficient.

6-Flow:

Once you have mastered the exercises, you will find that transitional moves will allow  exercise to flow smoothly into the next.  This smooth flow from exercise to exercise in a strong, controlled pace results in more grace strength and connected flow.

WHO AM I: I am a wife and mom of 4 kids. Prior to having children, I graduated from OSU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. WHY AM I PASSIONATE ABOUT PILATES: I had a heart full of desire to be the best Christian, wife, mom, daughter, sister, ect... I could be, but after having 4 children within 5 years, I started to suffer from chronic pain, fatigue, and general sense of physcial weakness. My heart was determined but my flesh felt very weak. On my road to recovery, I tried various forms of exercise, but found the Pilates Method to be different. I found it was not just another "exercise class", but a holistic method that taught me how to breathe effectively, connect my core to my movements, and grow stronger and more flexible. Pilates has been part of my path to healing. It is my hope that Pilates can help others heal too, so they can fulfill all God's purposes for their lives with more grace and ease.
