Carry “the BEAUTIFUL” with you…
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.”
What is “the beautiful”? I believe “the beautiful” is the ability to see that you are “fearfully and wonderfully” made…if you can’t see the beauty of God’s creation within yourself…then how can you see it all around you?
To have “the beautiful”, your heart must first know that you have a creator who made you “fearfully and wonderfully”…and “know it very well” (from Psalms 139: 14).
If you read Psalms 139, you find that being able to see “the beautiful” within yourself, is the starting point for seeking and serving God. It is what plants in one’s heart the seed of desire to be made pure, like your creator is, to have a pure heart filled with Love for God, others, and yourself.
Psalms 139:23-24 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” The Word of God points the way and is what can make our hearts pure, full of love, if we allow it to transform us.
How does this have anything to do with Pilates or transforming your health?
God has blessed us each with a physical body and a soul. We have a responsibility to care for both. Our soul is our heart…a heart full of Love to God, others, and self is the goal. … God has given us a physical body, “the beautiful,” for the purpose of carrying our heart…our soul in this life. So my ultimate goals are….
1-to encourage you to see “the beautiful”in you…and know it well
2-to encourage you to transform your heart to a “pure heart” filled with love
3-to help you strengthen “the beautiful” so you can carry with more
grace and ease.

Our body and mind are a team. Focus your mind on what your body is doing and give every exercise your full attention. 2-Breathe: Connect your breath to movement. Inhale as you prepare for the movement and exhale as o execute the movement. Deep lateral breathing into the back and sides of the rib cage creates a free flow of cleansing oxygen-improving circulation, releasing tension, and helping to organize postural alignment of the skeleton. CONNECT 3-Centering: Stabilize and initiate movement from the deep abdominal muscles located at the center of the body. The center is the safest and most effective starting place for movement, and focusing on it will transform how you move. 4-Control: Control keeps movements from being careless and hazardous. Do not use momentum to move the body-concentrate, breathe and use your core to initiate and complete each movement with precision. Mastering control will help you get the most out of this method of training as well as prevent injury. GROW 5-Precision: Pilates emphasizes quality over quantity. Precision is what makes Pilates so sufficient. 6-Flow: Once you have mastered the exercises, you will find that transitional moves will allow exercise to flow smoothly into the next. This smooth flow from exercise to exercise in a strong, controlled pace results in more grace strength and connected flow. “Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
