I'm reporting back to you, my dear and special fitness friends, that my two knee replacements have been very successful, and that I am up and walking, dancing, hiking, biking and generally enjoying life.
I have written several articles about preparing for knee replacement surgery and one article about my rehabilitation process. If you or any of your friends would like to receive these, I would be happy to e-mail them out. Just e-mail me and let me know.
I am seeing clients again and will be leading/teaching/exercising with people at the beach this summer again. . . . BEACH BODY CAMP is alive and well! I teach Chair Yoga at the Kilauea Senior Center now and my Yoganna by the Sea in Hanalei. Let me know if I can share any of my JOY with you and yours in the coming year!
HOT NEWS: I just cancelled my Yoganna by the Sea in February because I have scheduled my second knee replacement for Feb. 26. Please send me healing thoughts, prayers and energy. I plan to be back with you for the March event . . . probably Thursday, March 28. Will let you know! Stay well and stay fit!
I have written an article (3 parts) about preparing for surgery. If you know of anyone else that is going through surgery and would benefit from my thoughts on the subject, let me know and I'll forward the article(s) to them.
Yes, it i winter here. Evening temps have been as low as 60, brrrrr. Daytime temps are 70 - 75. The surf is up on some days and down on others, but in any sense, the ocean is always reminding us of the changes we experience in our lives. I'm enjoying seeing my friends/clients at monthly Yoganna sessions and/or in their homes or at the beach at other times.
I'm hoping that you, no matter where you are, are enjoying calm "seas" now and training yourself to be mindful so that you can endure the heavy seas (surf) when they come up.
See you at the beach!
Yes, it is finally summer and I'm enjoying the sunshine and preparing for a new adventureous program on the beaches.
I have a new knee . . . and I am doing well. The rehab from knee replacement is certainly not a fun journey, but it really has gone quite smoothly. I'm almost up to normal speed. I'm riding my bike a lot and swimming and walking. I'm at 4 months post-surgery now and ready to take on a new challenge. Beach boot (slipper) camps for beginners and intermediates. It should be a great summer program.
Another exciting thing in my life is planning for a trip to Myanmar (Burma) next January. I'm looking for a few more adventureous persons to join my husband and me. We are traveling with OAT and know they provide great trips. Be sure to telephone me if you are interested. 808 826-0355.
Wherever you are and whomever you are, I hope you are being kind and loving to yourself and others. In Joy, Anna
It has been a great year . . . training, teaching boot camp and Yoganna, laughing and working with clients and friends . . . in short, just enjoying life!
I'm going to be an expert on knee replacement rehab next month. I will have a new right knee in January. Guess I won't have an excuse to limp around any more. However, it did not keep me from bicycling, walking, aquacise, dancing (pathetically) and swimming. I plan to get back on track soon after my surgery.
Hope that you are well and enjoying ACTIVITY in your life. Let me know if I can help.
Aloha -- It is time to get back into fitness just in case you fell off the wagon this summer!
I enjoyed a trip to Colorado to visit friends and family in Sept. Great fun and I discovered huge gyms with incredible equipment and classes. I feel happy that I live here and teach at the beach and in beautiful locations on this north shore.
My family and I will be traveling to Thailand in October so don't try to contact me until November, okay? I'll let you know how it was to train elephants when I return!
Yoganna by the Sea was wonderful last month. We raised $107 for school supplies. I distribute the $'s to various teachers in our schools that I know use their own money for school supplies. This helps each of them a little . . . Please join us on the last Tuesday of each month at Pine Trees, Hanalei Bay, if you want an enjoyable walk with yoga attached AND feel good about helping our educational system.
ALSO, if you haven't looked at my events schedule lately, I have just re-done it to include the correct dates for this exciting class. As a trainer, I always work with people to be sure they don't over-do the class, but indeed do enough to enjoy the workout. This class takes place at the beautiful St. Regis beach near the pool. Breathtaking!
YOGANNA BY THE SEA is next Tuesday morning at 8:30 am. Hope to raise some cash for a few teachers here on the island. It upsets me that many use a lot of their small earnings for school supplies. I have four teachers that I am helping now, and am open to helping more if someone wants to "nominate" them . . . some teachers have a difficult time supporting family on their wages.
NO NEWS to report about aquacise classes at the Westin Hotel. Hopefully we will hear something soon about that!
In the meantime, STAY HEALTHY by MOVING your beautiful body as often as possible!
BOOT CAMP can be modified for ALL BODIES and fitness abilities. If you want a fun workout on the grass by the ocean at the lovely St. Regis, show up for that class!
I teach on Weds. Carol A. teaches on Fri. Lori teaches on Mon.
It looks as though aquacise classes, SPLASH, will be offered at the Westin Hotel in Princeville beginning sometime in the next few weeks. Carol Arreola and I will be teaching these classes. Probably be on Tues and Thurs at 9:00. Price $12 - $15 per class. I'll let you know when I know more!
Check out the other events that I have going in the near future. I'm always available to you for in-home training and if you need a full gym with great equipment, I can work with you at the Muscle and Fitness Gym in Kapa'a.
