Is Crossfit the new evolution of fitness or the next Tae Bo?

By Brad Elliott

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 5 years or so, you have undoubtedly heard of the new fitness sensation known as Crossfit. Even Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser has adopted the Crossfit mantra and has even applied it to his training regiment.

I first heard of Crossfit a while back but didn't give it much thought until lately when Crossfit gyms (or "Boxes") have begun to spring all over the place in my community and online. I have to admit that it's hard not to be impressed by these athletes lift a ton of weight and then go for a 10k run without missing a beat, all while holding onto nearly no body fat. These workout aren't for the faint of heard and requires a massive amount of dedication and practice and has a tendency to leave all those who take on the challenge lying on ground in a puddle of sweat and crying for their mommies.

I must admit, that while I don't consider myself a "Crossfitter", I have taken some of the rep schemes and exercises and have implemented them into my own workout.

My question for you, however, is that do you think Crossfit fit will stand the test of time or will it go the way of the ab roller and gradually fade from memory?
