Intel will introduce the new Haswell processor microarchitecture,buy motherboard, also a new C6/C7 power saving mode. For this new sleep mode, Intel particular demands on the PC power supplies and sets a minimum load of 0.05 amps advance on the 12V2 line responsible for the CPU. But since many of the power supplies currently available are still built on Intel's ATX specification V2.31 and these only require a minimum load of 0.5 amps, incompatibilities are not excluded.
Only the new ATX V2.4 guidelines of April this year, will meet the requirements of Haswell and support as required for the C6/C7 modes minimum load.
In order to give customers security, verify the manufacturer nor its current power supplies. Moreover, as was customary (see ErP Lot 6) optionally be selected, the new energy-saving mode in the BIOS of the motherboard.
To our requests come from many manufacture independently the statement that there is no general incompatibility, but one that depends on the system configuration.
