I have these little nuggets of motivation posted all over my house. One on the fridge, one on my “secret” snack cupboard, one in the bathroom, etc. I put them up last week. As much as I love my friends and family, it can still be tough to stay on the straight and narrow path of diet and exercise. I don’t always have someone pushing me to get my workout in no matter how tired I am or if it’s late in the day. I have to push myself. This is hard to do!
When I am working out, my motivation is the mirror. I pretend all those people who ever said “impossible” to anything I have ever tried in life, are looking at me in that mirror and watching me train. This makes me work hard and use perfect form, so “they” can’t say I didn’t do it. I also tell myself” don’t cheat on your reps just because no one is watching, you are only cheating yourself”- which makes no sense at all. (Why cheat yourself out of your workout if that’s what is going to make you better?)
When you are faced with a challenge, think about what drives you in the first place. Maybe it’s the haters; maybe it’s you wanting to be healthier for your kids. Maybe there is a monetary reward of some sort for the champion. Visualize yourself being successful… Dig deep and use your inner strength to push your body or your mind to places you may doubt you can ever go. By doing so, you will always be satisfied. Because nothing in this world is impossible!
