In the gym, we see two popular trends. In January, New Year’s Resolutions and post-holiday weight gain pick up the attendance. In April and May, people start heading to the gym to get in “swimsuit” shape.
But it should always be “swimsuit season”. Just because you wear more layers in the winter, or cover up more does not mean you should let everything go nutrition and exercise wise. Why? For one, it does affect your energy levels and overall health. Besides, once spring does roll around and the temps are rising, wouldn’t it be nice just to be able to throw on those short shorts in confidence, knowing you are already in shape and don’t have to worry about power diets and radical workouts? Keeping the mindset of healthy eating and breaking a good sweat should be a lifestyle, day to day habit for you, not a seasonal one. It will give you the edge some others don’t have. They will be scrambling for the treadmills and larger sizes- while you will be scrambling for the sunscreen and beach towel!
Have a great Sunday and keep “healthy” on your mind!
