No Excuses

By Deanett Pierce

We can all find excuses for anything that we don’t want to do. When it comes to fitness, the excuses are endless – I don’t have time, I have to take the kids to their activities, I am too tired, I work too late…. the list goes on. This isn’t just women, men, you do the same thing working long hours, being coach of the football or baseball teams. We put our kids in sports to keep them active and healthy and in reality, we are getting them to exercise. We take our loved ones to the doctor when they aren’t feeling well. We tell them that if they really want something, nothing can get in their way if they set their minds to it. Every day we tell them we love them and how special they are. I have even told my daughters I would give my life for them. So my question for you is this, why don’t you treat yourself the same way? Aren’t you special, aren’t you worth the effort, and if you would give your life for a loved one, then why not give your life for you? If you take the time to take care of yourself, then you will be healthy and able to be there for your family. Put your workouts on your calendar as an appointment that you cannot break. Exercise reduces stress, relieves anxiety, gives you more energy, helps you sleep better, makes you stronger, gives you more confidence and gives you a more abundant life. So, no more excuses! You are worth the effort that it takes to get you to your workouts. You are worth the effort it takes to eat nutritious food. Today is the day you start treating yourself like you treat your loved ones. I am going to challenge you on this…take the next two weeks, work out consistently WITH NO EXCUSES (at least three times each week), and see if it doesn’t give you more energy, make you feel better, stronger and healthier.
