Mindless eating can lead to weight gain but there is no such thing as mindless weight loss. Losing weight is about making the right choices every single day, in all sorts of situations.
The first choice is to choose YOU! You have to believe that you are worth the effort and the time it takes to be healthy. Secondly you have to learn how to make proper choices no matter what situation you are faced with and planning ahead is key. If you are going to have a busy day bring your snacks and lunch with you. If you are going to a party or barbeque eat a healthy snack before you arrive, keep a glass of water in your hand. When it is time to eat step back and survey the food table and make a plan of what you will put on your plate. Fill it with fruits, vegetables and good protein before you place anything loaded with creamy dressings, mayonnaise, sour cream or sugar. When you are in the store and you pass something you shouldn’t eat but you feel it screaming your name, ask yourself “Am I going to feel better emotionally and physically if I eat it?”, if the answer is no then walk past it and choose something that will make you feel better.
Sometimes the pounds come off slowly but that doesn’t mean you should throw in the towel. Every positive choice you make is changing you on the inside and it moves you closer to your goal. Whether it’s dropping a clothing size, or beating a personal record in a workout celebrate every victory big and small. Those victories are what propel you towards your goal and reinforce that all the hard work is paying off.
