The FIT LAB is a fitness facility that has been termed 'Boutique Fitness'. Don't let the word boutique lead you to think the FIT LAB is all frilly and no sweat! Quite the opposite is true. Our culture is one of comadarie, empowered training in several venues and all of it...even barre is a challenge. Shaking quads will prove it. :) All instructors carry national certs and live to give our clients a challenging workout. By boutique the powers that termed it means we are small and defined in what we offer. Just like a dress boutique we offer only the top line of fitness led by top of the line instructors who have a passion for fitness and people. The FIT LAB, our areas boutique fitness facility is cranking out some serious improvement in our members fitness. Proud to be the proud owner of a 'Boutique Facility'! Every facility has it's own culture which is really great- if not we would all be the same.... how boring would that be?
Kettlebells were developed in Russia in the 1700s, primarily for weighing crops. Seems the farmers enjoyed the physical benefits kettlebells provided and in time we now have the Sport of Kettlebell! I absolutely love training with them as do my clients/members. Why not? They provide benefits that most other weight training does not. This iron globe with a handle on it addresses all components of fitness! KBs are great for 1:1 personal training, group environment and training sport specific. LOVE Kettlebell training!
Coach Kevin is leading a great Urban Boot Camp. The 4 week outdoor camp was such a hit the recruits asked for round two! Seems they like being challenged and like to run, jump, crawl around on the ground. Most importantly they have created a bond and are and making great headway in their fitness levels. HOOAH!
This post title depicts the atmosphere in our XTREME FITNESS Makeover. Two weeks in and attitudes have changed from timid to I CAN DO THIS! Workouts are changed to ensure no two are alike and better yet they are productive and challenging. Thankfully nobody has puked which is really good because day one they learned that their trainers don't clean up puke. Self-confidence and determination is beginning to ooze from their pore. Congrats to these hard working women and onto week 3! Pictures next week!
The title of this blog adequately describes what happened the first session of week 2. The participants are in this program to improve their fitness levels, body comps and lifestyle. All the while having individual goals in a group environment. Okay- So what the heck happened last night?!?! A few words come to mind; loaded for bear and challenge me with a butt kickin! The workout was absolutely owned by each and every one of them!!! However one person stood out in the crowd. Each and every component of her comps had improved. How about that for an individual WIN!!! If the energy, dedication and 'want to' stays at this level nothing less than sucess will be gotten by all. HOOAH about sums it up. :)
If you are following this blog please help me cheer these gals on. They absolutely rocked their group workout this morning! Energies were high and with obvious determination they powered though RIP TIDE. In the coming hours I am sure they will be icing, foam rolling and stretching! It's a good thing we covered those 3 very important revovery items. :) If things continue as they are now there is no doubt what so ever that goals will be met and every one of these ladies will continue their journey. Check ya later and have a great weekend!
Although this was our first session these women were impressive. Following body comps and introductions the majoritiy participated in an Intro To Kettlebell Session. Doing so prepared them for what's coming down the pipe. The others rocked a water rower/kettlebell circuit. Each group is assigned a trainer. A portion of the training session is set for the group to discuss that days lession. FB groups allow us to break out with our coaching for some individual team coaching. It hasn't happened yet but I suspect a bit of team competition is in our future. At least I hope it does.... nothing wrong with some good old fashioned (fair) competition, right? After all there is a prize on the line!!!
Tomorrow we kick off a challenging six week program. 2 teams of 7 will work individually and as a group to rally up by improving their body comps and weight. The person who creates the most change will win a years membership to Balance Personal Training's FIT LAB. Throughout our journey I'll be blogging our progress. Let's all rally around all these hard working individuals!
A1 - Two handed swing :30
A2 - Goblet squat with overhead press :30
A3 - Alternate cleans :30
A4 - Alternate balistic rows :30
A5 - Get up ES :30 or TGU Alternate ES :30
Labor Day, the holiday that indicates summer's over is just around the corner. Where has the time gone? Seems like were we just looking forward to the Memorial Holiday and about to kick off summer. The older I get the more I realize time is precious and fleeting. Fact is I feel as though I should be working right now. Throwing caution to the wind, taking a walk on the wild side, here I sit thinking. Thinking about time, goals and the fact I need to get my 'ducks in a row' so to speak. Goals... yeah- I am extremely goal oriented. I wonder if your ducks are in a row. Do you have a goal? A plan? Or do you just wing it. Wierd how this turned from me to you. Enough said about my procrastination for the upcoming fall. It's time to get off-line and get busy. Off the top of my head my goals are to allow for more personal down time and run the SPINNING 8 wk weight loss program and to be the best trainer I have ever seen. However most importantly I'm going to worry less. My belief is that if we give all we have to give the outcome of our efforts will be ok. Maybe not perfect but most likely not an epic fail either. Summers is almost over and I welcome fall and all the changes it may bring. :) Enjoy the last few weekends of summer and I hope your fall goals are achieved!
