Here's a list of tips that will help get you get motivated to get in awesome shape - and stay there!
1.) Remember that an awful workout is better than none at all.
Hey, there are times - especially right after a long day - that I have zero inspiration to work out. But I tell myself that I'm going to the gym to simply walk through the workout - go through the motions, if you will. Within a few sets, magically I'm totally into it. Works every time!
2.) Buy a Polar Heart Rate Monitor
Especially one that counts calories. I cannot tell you how many times I'm wrapping up my workout and I check my calories only to discover that I only burned 350 calories. I immediately get inspired to bounce around the various cardio machines until I rack up another couple hundred. And I record weekly totals and try to beat what I did the previous week. You can get a good one for under $100, and it's worth every penny
3.) Join MyFitnessPal.com
It's free! Input your vitals and your target weight and it will calculate how many caories you can consume and be on target. All you need to do is to enter your food intake daily(it calculates the calories for nearly everything imaginable) and your exercise(it calculates caloric expenditure and adjusts your calories allowed for that day accordingly). Everyone I know on this program loses weight - and a lot of it!
