As a little girl, I envisioned myself as a prima ballerina! Although quite tall and gawky, I thought I was made to dance. I studied ballet at the very serious ballet school of Adelaide K. Hutton six days a week. At the age of 5 I was twrilling around the house in my full slip, my arms over my head, totally enthralled with the thrill of my graceful moves to the music. Every two years the Examiner from the Royal Academy of Ballet came all the way from England to our ballet school to give us an EXAMINATION and watch us perform our ballet syllabus where we were graded and judged. It was very unnerving! But, those exams did not ruin my love of dance! I loved to dance so much, I wanted to share it with everyone I knew! I choreographed my own version of the Sugar Plum Fairy and taught it to a few of my very good second grade classmates. We performed it for our school Christmas Show! I studied ballet for 13 years, Modern Dance for 5 years, Salsa, ballroom, even tap dance! Dancing is my first love! Fast forward to today: I get to teach ZUMBA! Yes, I can live out my life long goal of leading a group of people, all different ages and sizes in a really fun and happy environment.! We have so much fun dancing and sweating to the hypnotic beat of the Latin inspired music! It is a fantastic way to exercise, even if you are uncoordinated! Zumba is stress relieving, upbeat, invigorating and downright addictive! You can join me at Cal Tech every Tuesday at 6pm as my guest! Please email me for more information! I want to share with you my love for dance, my passion for movement, and all of the enthusiasm I have for fitness!
