Hello there again and sorry for the delay, been working early mornings so I have been sleeping a lot and resting/recovering from workouts too.
Though on Monday night, went to see my family and all the gyms in that area was closed at night. My buddy and I were disappointed in that but I dusted off my old Charles Atlas book and started using those old exercises and man did we get a workout and in just under 30 mins.
Lesson today, always go back to what you know best and haven't done in a while and visit Charlesatlas.com
I am a big Charles Atlas enthusiast and might even try to get to a Charles Atlas certification to teach it!
Sorry if I haven't been keeping up to date with the blog, currently dealing with some personal matters but I am back. I am here to help out as much as I can with what I know.
And going to keep it short tonight, I am going to mention a little about my personal training certification, ACTION Personal Training. Now a days, it seems like people work countless hours at the gym or even video games to help lose those pounds or to tone up. But they always seem to find reasons to whine and complain about it, especially that they want to be home, well maybe calisthenics, resistance training, dynamic tension, isometrics can be a problem solver. These body weights for you (or prison workouts, which people love to hear) can be more beneficial or even more strengthening than the traditional weights, equipment or classes that you can take.
The human body is an amazing fine tuned machine. The amount of wiring, muscles, bloodflow, endorphins and brain cells use to make us even lift a finger is crazy (let alone type this blog). The abilities that is within a human body is absolutley crazy to think about and you don't need a gym, fancy clothes or shakes to help obtain the body you want. Sometimes all you need is a couple of chairs, books or a cinderblock and then you are off doing some amazing circuit of push ups, sit ups, dips, dippings, squats and more. Because if you want to watch TV and workout, this is something for you or its too cold outside, time to hit at home or you just don't want people to look at you, well just use what you got, your body! Even using resistance against your own body (using a push/pull against air can create a great cardio burning workout) and men of the early 1900s understood and even military and prisoners (which all are fantastic shape despite having not the best nutrition around them) understood that you can either sit or moan about going to the gym or you can stay in one place and make a body that will last a life time.
If you want to know about more, please respond and I don't mind to help give tips on or where you can find these exercises.
I am Eli Studer and I am a personal trainer and I am here for you! Thank you for reading and sorry if it is short and brief, if you want to know more, please respond.
All the new phases of P90x, Insanity, Biggest Loser, Spartin Training, RushFit...People are flocking to these and just a flabbergasted by these new ways to exercise and they are so intense! I hate to break it too you, these have all been around for a while, it just took some people noticing. These are nothing more than just mixing up your workout with aerobic and anareobic movements, isometric/dynamic tension routines, martial arts, calisthenics, plyometrics.... so yeah anytime you are doing that, results will show (and vary). Even sports athletes are even bragging about these, but athletes are already have to be in shape and they get paid millions to keep in shape so they have a lot more time to be in shape than the normal American. My point will be soon sorted out by the end of these blog.
Kind of like Tae Bo in the late 90s, which I had fun doing, but I already knew that using some martial art techniques are great for fitness. In reality, there are very few overweight martial artists (sure there are some but you may know who that movie star is). And the idea of Crossfit is just blowing the United States out of the water for originality, but it's just mixing up old school ideas with a new face. The idea of functional training (or sometimes in crossfit, who can push more, i can menatlity) has been around forever, hell even before it became big it was considered underground...really?
As Americans, have we just been hit by so many in brand exercise fads that we are just too blind to realize that we already had these exercises in front of us? Sometimes it takes one person (salesperson or the loudest or just the money hungriest) to take advantage of the people and make promises that they will get them in shape guareented? Yeah it may get you in shape but remember also part of getting in shape is no smoking, no drinking, no drugs and most importantly watching what you eat, which these days people have problems with (and even some personal trainers do too). Just remember this, health and fitness should be as important as it was in the early 1900s, but instead of being the biggest, baddest and the loudest, just be you and find that workout that works for you the best and be happy.
I am a personal trainer if you want to discuss topics like this or try out a workout, please contact me and I will find something that will work the best for you.
First off, everybody is different. Whether it's gender, body type or mind set, everybody is built different, that is what makes us so unique. I just don't get why people want to look like a certain celebrity or athlete, unless you have the time to put into it, the resources to fund it and even the same DNA set up, chances are not everybody is going to look like a certain someone. I have dealt with this on more than one occassion. I remember when I was training, one of my clients/ acquintances wanted to have abs like "Jersey Shore" and only work on biceps as well. I had to explain to him it isn't just working to muscles to get you into shape (or in essence the many muscles and fibers that make up the biceps and abdominals), you also have to work on your back, triceps, chest and importantly can't leave the legs out, because if you become top heavy, you may look silly or be falling down more because your balance is off. Also I described to him that there are three types of bodies: ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph and depending on genetics, metabolism, nutrition and effort put forth then changes can be seen rather quickly (depending of course).
That is why it is a bit of a challening because if someone is stuck in their ways and if the motivation isn't well MOTIVATING then they will swing back into old habits again and then have to come back again. Here is what they should be thinking, don't do it for looks or recongition, just do it for yourself, you will feel better and your mood or thoughts will improve. Don't give into the fads of pills, powders and even worse drugs, you may look good for a short time, but your body will pay a price in the long run. Just because a certain person looks the way, do use it more of a motivation or guideline more than I just want to be like that, because in the end, you may come close but your body won't be exactly like that, don't be disappointed by that, be glad that you can even come close to that! And just remember, everybody is going to look different and be built differently, so if you wanna transform yourself or just lose a couple of pounds, you gotta be willing to change and put for the time and effort because, exercise, health, fitness and what have you isn't a couple months thing, it's a lifetime's worth.

Hey there!
As a personal trainer, I always get asked about this. But the funny thing is that right now, it seems like no one is taking advantage of it, well so far. I know it can be frustrating or heartbreaking (especially finding how much a gym coast or a trainer on top of everyday life) but remember you only live this life once.
I love showing people new tricks or brush up on old ones too, anything to get people healthy (within reason) and reaching their goals. Like I said in my profile, I am adept to many different styles of training, but it is interesting that sometimes you can't teach a old dog new tricks. People wanting to lose weight but don't want to try a new regime or it looks too hard, but complain about gaining weight. Well sometimes you gotta expand your mind and get over that plateau, because if you don't, you will be stuck in the same spot and just keep spinning the tires and not getting anywhere.
I also love the questions of the new fad diets or fad informercial exercises. They may work for a bit but nothing will last forever! Because with fad diets, they maybe dangerous because they are taking out essential nutrients or the informercial exercise may look cool, but like any others, they will always be a new or more EXTREME version. But hey, that is what I am here for and I am here to serve the people! To help them understand about themselves better and learn how we can achieve goals without going overboard (thank you America for the bombardments of "How we should look" on every billboard or magazine, to make us even more insecure). So, at the end this, don't be afraid of the gym or personal trainers, if you want tips, don't be afraid and let us help you help yourself!
