So we all like to indulge a little at this time of the year, its to be expected. I am not going to tell you what you should eat or why but rather offer a few tips to help manage the holiday period, curtsey IDEA Health & Fitness magazine. Lets be smart this holiday season and enjoy it without feeling guilty.
Use your common sense.
Take smaller portions.
Savor and chew your food slowly.
Have a nice brake between servings.
Use smaller utensils, plates, bowls and cups.
Try not to buy carbonated drinks.
Moderate your alcohol and caffeine consumption.
Remove your temptations.
Replace some sweet treats with fruits and nuts.
In this months IDEA Health & Fitness magazine there was a Food Pamphlet included which suggested that using red plates could “curtail our calorie intake”. Mostly because we have been conditioned to see red as a warning, thus helping us to reduce our serving sizes subconsciously.
Do your best and use common sense. So lets be realistic and an focus on one habit at a time. Don’t pile loads of food on your plate and shovel it in asap. Take less and slow down, enjoy the moment.
Happy Holidays!
