10 Ways to Promote your IDEA FitnessConnect Profile

By IDEA FitnessConnect

1) Profile Badge

Place one of the "Find me on IDEA FitnessConnect" badges on your website/blog. Take advantage of these badges by going to the "Quick Links" box underneath your profile picture and clicking on "Create Profile Badge".

2) E-mail Signature

Include a link to your profile in your e-mail signature. You will find your public profile link right above the profile complete status bar at the top of the page when you are logged in.

3) Reviews

Ask current and past clients to write a review for you on your page page with the “Review Request” tool found at the bottom of your profile page.. Reviews can serve as a powerful marketing tool that allow potential clients to make educated decisions about you and your business.

4) Facebook

Use the Facebook "Share" button at the bottom of your public profile to share your IDEA FitnessConnect profile on Facebook.

5) Twitter

Use the "Tweet This" button at the bottom of your public profile to share your IDEA FitnessConnect profile on Twitter.

6) Newsletter

Do you have a newsletter that you send out to clients and leads? Include a link to your profile in your newsletter. If you don't already have a newsletter, consider using IDEA FitnessConnect's free newsletter. The content of each issue is a combination of IDEA’s editorial content and the data on your profile (profile picture, website, logo, etc). Start creating your newsletter by clicking on "Create Client Newsletter" in the "Quick Links" box underneath your profile picture.

7) Business Card

Add your profile URL on your business card.

8) Profile Completion

Fill out all the items on your profile page. Profile completion is 1 of 23 factors that the search results ranking algorithm takes into account (the higher your ranking, the higher you will appear in search results).

9) Client Share

Bring the client/lead sign-up sheet to your classes/sessions to get participants/clients e-mails. You will find this sheet under the "Clients/Leads" tab on your profile. Once you have their e-mails in the system, you can use the "client share" button to send your clients/leads your profile page via e-mail.

10) Facility Page

Have the owner/manager of your club/studio claim (http://www.ideafit.com/fitnessconnect/signup/club) their facility page. Once the facility is claimed, visitors will not only be able to see details about the club/studio that you work at, but they will also be able to see that you are a staff member and click through to your profile

Bonus Tip: Success Tools

By using success tools like creating classes/events, adding videos, and enabling your blog, you can also attract people to your profile.

Hope that you find these tips useful!

I really find the tips to be helpful in creating a more robust profile. Perhaps providing a video demo of how to actually implement these tips will also encourage more user particpation.

Since I own a cycling studio and we have our own website, blog, and e-mail newsletter, I hadn't really considered my IDEA Connect Page as that important to the rest of our marketing. Since attending the IDEA Conference, however, I realized that we should be using every tool available to us. I have a business membership and it dawned on me how foolish it is to let a powerful resource go unused.

I'm now proudly displaying my Idea Connect badge on our website and will ask our "riders" to write reviews so that future potential riders can feel more comfortable with the professionalism of our classes.

Thanks for the reminder!!

Thanks for helping me get started. After being a school district employee for the past 8 1/2 years I was given the chance to rent the swimming pool and start my own business. Thanks again for helping me get Anna's Get Fit h2o off to a good start...
