Greetings to all of you, and welcome to the blog launch. I invite your questions and comments, and wish you a great autumn season ahead. Below you will find more info about my work and training principlea; now teaching at studios in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, as well as beach classes and home training. Future blogs will cover an array of topics in movement, recovery, nutrition, hydration, and health/wellness. To your health!
Jennifer Beamer is excited to now be offering pilates and personal training in the community. Jennifer has a lifetime of experience in movement conditioning and is eager to share this with her clients; her career as a professional dancer (based in France and touring internationally, followed by commercial work in LA, and ten years as a principal dancer with Liss Fain Dance San Francisco) has been a prime laboratory for her to optimize biomechanics and athletic performance. Prior to her dance career, Jennifer attended UCSF Medical School, learning comprehensive information about the human body and modern medicine. She chose to alter her path towards one of guiding people to health and wellness from within-- through movement, based upon sound principles of science and her multidisciplinary life experience. Jennifer is certified through Balanced Body as a Comprehensive Pilates Instructor, and has trained with key figures in the field of pilates, athletic conditioning and rehabilitation, including Marie Jose Blom (LBDC master Trainer), Alicia Head (LBDC Master Trainer), Dawn-Marie Ickes (MPT, PMA-CPT, Balanced Body Faculty), Roger Gonzalez (BBU Faculty), Gabrielle Shrier (MPT) , Allyson Cabot (PT), Portia Page (Master Pilates Instructor), Lenny Parracino (CMT, FAFS), and Jonathon Sum (PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS).
Class Description;
Jennifer's classes are founded upon classical pilates technique, infused with functional strength and conditioning exercises tailored to each client--from beginners to elite athletes. By focusing on full body engagement, precise form, breathing, spinal and pelvic alignment, Jennifer guides clients to identify their deep core power, and to perform fluid, energizing movements, maximizing results while minimizing tension. This develops long lean muscles, flexibility, coordination, balance, strength and endurance throughout the body. Jennifer's empowering attitude leaves clients feeling strong, lifted and energized. She integrates her experience in the art and science of human movement to educate clients to move in safe, efficient ways, optimizing athletic performance, injury prevention/rehabilitation, and daily living.
When scheduling a session, please specify experience and any area you would like to focus on so that Jennifer may prepare a class designed to meet your interests. Sessions are available in studio, at the beach, and office/work sites; home training is also available.
Jennifer has taught at multiple studios in the LA area including; Core Conditioning, Mala Movement, Essential Movement Malibu, and Lauridsen Ballet Center. She is active in the dance medicine community and is collaborating with Dawn-Marie Ickes of Evolve Integrative Wellness, to initiate a dance medicine injury prevention program. As a professional dancer, Jennifer embodies a deep passion for movement, and cultivating strong, healthy, movement patterns in her clients. She is committed to sharing important conditioning principles, critical thinking, and a multidisciplinary approach to each client, in sessions that are energizing, empowering, and educational.
What drives me: Empowering people to be their personal best every day; guiding them to those "aha" moments, when the light goes on, and they accelerate towards personal goals. Through education, goal setting, and focused training, I build a partnership that launches an individual on their path to personal success, and pushes the boundaries of their limitless potential. As a professional dancer, I have a deep appreciation for movement -both the demands and rewards-and love sharing this with others.
Medical Professional Alliances;
As a professional dancer and pilates instructor, I highly value the power of integrative medicine to guide the body to a place of homeostasis where it can begin to rebalance and heal itself from within. Building a network of trusted professionals to refer clients to--and to work cooperatively with in implementing a conditioning and wellness program to optimizing each client’s health-- is an important part of my career vision.
To your health and empowerment!
Best, Jennifer
