You know the "secret" to weight loss--eat healthy and exercise. But knowing how to eat and exercise simply isn't enough; you actually need to do it! Sometimes though it's easier to sit on the couch than to do what we know we should. Need motivation?
Here are a few reasons why YOU need to get up and GO:
- Better health--Study after study reveals exercise's positive effects (lower risk of disease, improved blood pressure/other conditions, improved mental health, improved cognitive function...). Who wouldn't want this?
- Improved self-esteem--both from the feeling of accomplishing that workout session and the improved reflection in the mirror looking back at you. Hey, who's that hottie in your bathroom?
- Your family/friends/pets--these people/creatures LOVE YOU! They want you around for as long as possible because they need you and they want you to live a happy, quality life. And if you have children/grand children, they look to you as a role model. Which of your behaviors would you like to see them copying?
- Your ability to move--Not everyone can physically do what they'd like (dance, walk, play tennis...) because of disease, injury, accidents or other circumstances. Why not do these activities while you still can? What are you waiting for?
Certainly you may have other reasons for living an active lifestyle. What are they? Don't forget them next time you hear that couch calling...
