Self Motivated

By Kurt Gillon

Self motivation is like a muscle, it needs exercise to keep strong and in good shape. If you fail to exercise a muscle it will gradually atrophy until it becomes completely useless.

If you allow this to happen, it takes a great deal of extra effort to restore the muscle to full power and to regain your previous fitness level. Self motivation is needed when the wear and tear of daily life slows you down and you need to give yourself an extra push to keep going.

Getting into the habit of daily exercise will ensure your motivational muscles won't let you down when you need them.

Stronger than you are!

By Kurt Gillon

Accept what is as if you had chosen it, and avoid creating stories and hypothetical outcomes that don't exist. You will avoid a lot of anxiety and stress if you simply accept what is happening and concentrate the mind in the present moment, without thinking about what could potentially happen as a result of this problem. The future doesn't exist. Only now exists. The problem isn't the problem. Your thoughts, attitudes, and emotions towards the problem is where the self-induced suffering will occur.

wishing, waiting, nothing!

By Kurt Gillon

Dont waste time sitting and wishing for good things to happen. Go MAKE THEM HAPPEN. Today! Whats stopping you? Now is the time to move (literally) in life.  We were born to LIVE LIFE, not wallow in misery, be constantly depressed, upset, sad, etc.  Those emotions take up entirely too much energy and effort.

Choose today, this moment, where ever you may be and say to yourself, "I WAS BORN TO LIVE"

What A Character!

By Kurt Gillon

MOTIVATION: "You can always tell how much someone cares by the way they give." -

TAKE AWAY:
Every moment. Every encounter. Everyday we have is an OPPORTUNITY to show someone that we care. Opportunity is not only a vehicle to reach our personal desires and motives but it is also an avenue to increase our CHARACTER.

TAKE AWAY: Don't settle your Character. Keep working on you.

Sand, Rocks and Pebbles

By Kurt Gillon

IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE.

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “Yes.”

“Now,” said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things – your family, your partner, your health, your children – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter – like your job, your house, your car.

The sand is everything else. The small stuff.”

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued “there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, c
lean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal.

Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”
