Multi-Tasker Home Workout
Clean and Condition
by: Laura McDonald
It’s the last day of August and I’m lucky enough to be spending these few precious days before the kids head back to school and my work routine begins, at the BEACH!
I was up early this morning (you don’t want to know how early) with my mind full of darting thoughts. I felt like a kid who’s excited to go back to school, but also feeling blue that my beautiful, serene, relaxing summer is coming to a close.
I’ve got so much on my plate when my schedule resumes that I’m already thinking about this and that, but at the same time I’m trying to “just be” in the moment, storing and absorbing every single sensory of summer that is humanly possible.
I’m sort of like a squirrel hoarding her secret stash to get through the long, dark winter...
After watching an awe inspiring sunrise then taking my dog on a 4 mile power walk/jog- - - I came back to our little beach house and decided today is the day to start putting things in order for our departure.
Cleaning house, if you will, literally and figuratively. By starting to organize, clean and straighten up for our departure, I am mentally preparing myself for letting go and moving into the next season. I also wanted to add a few moves to my workout this morning making it more than just “cardio”---I wanted to get in some major muscle group strength training.
Here came my idea!!! I will clean and condition!
I set about in the bathroom, the room I decided I would tackle today for a good scrub down...with cleaning supplies at the ready I devised a simple plan of alternating cleaning and conditioning...
Here’s the basic idea. You can use the format for any room in the house, just break it up into sections. Also...I am using NO equipment for the body conditioning!
- Clean Tub
- 15-20 lunges each leg
- Clean Toilet
- 200-300 crunches
- Clean medicine cabinet
- 2-3 sets 10 push-ups
- Sweep floor
- 20-30 Squats
- Wipe down floor
- 2-3 sets 10 triceps dips
It’s a simple workout but hits all the major muscle groups and your bathroom will be spotless!
Have a Healthy Rocking Day!
