Sometimes the biggest part of saving lives is notifying the right people that there is an emergency as soon as you can. Their apps started with the First Aid app, which will help anyone deal with common first aid emergencies. They have since updated their apps to collect information on natural disasters. These help them gather information from locals immediately affected by the natural disaster. This helps the Red Cross gather information and assemble what they need to offer the appropriate level of aid to the affected area without a problem or delay in a situation where even a couple of hours could save a lot lives.
Once upon a time, the failure of an organ would put you on a direct and quick path to your grave. In recent years, though, the use of artificial organs has aided in making this a thing of the past. While some technologies have been in use for years, such as a pacemaker to help a failing heart, there are new, even more impressive technologies in the works as well. Some of these that you may have heard of are using tissue to construct organs. Stomachs have been grown at this point but more complex organs such as hearts need more work. There is even research in the works to work on 3-D printed organs.
