On The Go Workouts

By Patricia Jarrell

Being a member of the GymGo team has enabled me to meet some pretty amazing fitness pros as well as new clients. One of my favorite qualities of this platform is that I can plan workouts for my clients when they are travelling. Both on-demand sessions and live sessions are offered, and have become a great way to supplement regular workouts when on-the-go! Check out my GymGo profile at:

Have you tried drinking Aloe Water?

VeganhydrationhealingArthritisCholesterol
By Patricia Jarrell

Most people know that the aloe plant can be healing when used topically, but many don't realize that the aloe leaf is one of the oldest healing remedies for many conditions and that drinking aloe in water can aid in circulation, assimilation and elimination. It can ease arthritic pain, lower high cholesterol, and prevent kidney stones among other uses. It can soothe ulcers, gastritis, IBS and help muscle functioning.

Living in Arizona, we have easy access to aloe plants. Every home I have lived in has had several plants in the backyard, therefore, drinking aloe water is easy and can provide wonderful healing and preventative qualities on a daily basis.

     Aloe Water ingredients are:

-1 fresh aloe leaf (2 inches long)

     -12 oz of water

Scoop out the gel and blend with water for 10-20 seconds. Drink immediately on an empty stomach for maximum benefit.

If aloe isn't as easy for you to find growing naturally, it can be purchased in the produce section of most supermarkets.

Grapes, "The Queen of Fruits"

By Patricia Jarrell

Many of my health concious friends and clients are purposeful about eating berries regularly. But some don't realize the nutritional quality of the grape! They are rich in Vitamins A, C and B-complex as well as minerals such as calcium, magnesium, copper, boron, manganese, selenium, and potassium! They contain high amounts of antioxidants which are anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-microbial, anti-aging, and anti-cancerous! Black grapes are by far the most nutritious, and their seeds can be juiced for enhanced health-promoting properties. Choose organic when possible and enjoy this sometimes over-looked powerhouse!

Holiday workouts

By Patricia Jarrell

I know we are in a time crunch this month with extra errands, parties, etc... Because of that, I believe that HIIT workouts combined with mind-body workouts are essential. We can get the calorie burn and metabolism boost in the high intensity sessions but we also need the balancing that the mind-body (pilates, yoga, t'ai chi, etc.) offer! Don't forget to boost your immune system with your greens and essential oils!

Love My Greens

By Patricia Jarrell

Even though I LOVE fruits and vegetables, I still have a hard time getting enough in on a daily basis! It usually comes down to my busy schedule or the fact that I can't stock them fast enough to supply the whole family. Anyway, I am so grateful to be able to use a powder that supplies 52 herbs and nutrient rich superfoods, as well as 34 fruits and vegetables. I put this in my water every day and I can really tell that I get the nutritional boost that I was missing. Love my greens!

Engaging, supportive and non-judgmental

By Patricia Jarrell
There are 1.9 billion obese adults in the world today. As fitness professionals, we need to be engaging, supportive and non-judgmental as we help our clients find something they enjoy doing that will add pleasure to their lives. The exercise prescription does not look the same for everyone! Unrelenting encouragement and total respect go a long way in helping our clients find success.
