Healthy living is being in a state of physical, mental, and social well-being. So what does that exactly mean? Well, first of all we need to understand that no one can obtain perfect health. Yes we define healthy living as a balance of physical, mental and social well-being but balancing health is temporary because our bodies are always adapting. The goal is homeostasis, but we are always working to achieve this. When we are out of balance, it isn’t necessarily going to the doctor or staying home from work or school, it can be a headache, tired from not sleeping well , feeling blue or having an injury. Striving to do our best to achieve healthy living can be helped by getting quality sleep. Sleep is nature’s number one healer. Other ways are to eat clean foods (not processed), breathe clean air, drink clean water and keep our bodies moving! December is a good month to reflect back on the past year on how well you achieved healthy living, and plan any changes you might want to make, starting in January. Happy Healthy Living!
