 When it comes to food, diet, nutrition, fads, it can become all a little bit to confusing. We are overwhelmed with contradictory information. What was good for you today, can be bad for you tomorrow. Keeping that in mind here, are 3 food rules to make your decisions simpler.

1. Not all carbs are bad, but... You should minimize grains(breads, cereals, pasta, bagels)Grains will spike... your blood sugar, turn your fat burning engine's off(bad) and grains also contain a lot of anti-nutrients which prevent your body from absorbing some minerals( bad too). Instead, get your carbs from Fruit and Vegetables. Easy right?

2. Beware of hidden sugars in your foods- Beware of hidden sugars in condiments and dressings. Did you know that I tablespoon ketchup has 5 grams of sugar. I love ketchup has much has the next person but don't go overboard. Please read the labels on all your condiments.

3. Add herbs and spices to everything (your body will thank you) -
For example turmeric has been shown to have protective effects against cancer. Cinnamon has powerful blood sugar controlling effects. Get both of these in your pantry ASAP
