Trends vs. Basics

Tried and true... Old School Training like all types of training that has been around have borrowed from each other. To me it's just taking the best of what works for you and creating a plan that fit's your goals in life. I love the foundational training, it's what I build all my workout training programs on, and mix and match styles that compliment each other to keep it relevant and fresh. Funny, but back in the early 80's CROSS TRAINING AND AEROBICS WAS ALL THE RAVE AND TRENDING WORDS, so it's funny to me when people think that the new CROSSFIT AND ZUMBA IS SOMETHING NEW. Like everything in life evolution is great for progress, but we always go back to the BASICS, because it's what works.

I'm a professional personal trainer, living on the beautiful Big Island Of Hawaii, and truly love spreading what Aloha means to the health of our mind, our body and our Spirit. It's a dream come true to me to be able to make a difference in my clients lives, and to experience their joy and happiness when they accomplish and break through their goals. I can honestly say, I'm blessed beyond measure to live and work in paradise every day of my life and to experience the shared stories and lives of my clients. There is never a session that goes by that I don't learn something new about myself, and why I love what I do. It's funny, how when I was in my teens I made a note to self, that I wished to be a personal trainer someday. But as life goes on, like it often does, my path took me to many detours, that in it's own magical way, brought me right back to my original wish. I wouldn't be who I am today with all those little bumps in the road some challenging and some more fun than others, BUT, it's given me a new found PASSION & LOVE for doing what I do and living in a healthy way for me. I feel it's because of these life experiences that I'm better able to support and give my clients all that they deserve in a personal trainer. I've also realized that nothing in this life is written in stone. So I strive to allow myself the opportunity to embrace new adventures in my business, my own training and what's out there for my clients. Along the way the coaches that have touched my life has given me one very powerful tid bit of advice, that for me has been my saving grace, "Don't try so hard, just kick the ball and let it go, you already got this!!" And you know what, trusting in the abilities that we have and knowing WE GOT THIS, has been what keeps me going, no matter what. I take this with me in all that I do. Life is my GYM, and I love every minute of it, meeting people and helping them do their very best, makes me feel like YES, I found my calling. Aloha ~ Puakea
