This is an excellent illustration of muscle vs. fat. There's a common misconception that muscle weighs more than fat. 5 pounds of muscle and 5 pounds of fat both weigh 5 pounds. But as you can see, 5 pounds of fat is a lot larger than 5 pounds of muscle. And that 5 pounds of fat takes up a lot more room in your body than the muscle does. That's why watching the scale isn't as important as how your clothes fit your body. And you build more muscle and burn more fat by doing resistance training (i.e. lifting weights). So get moving! Make it a great day!
