The best way to get results with a client is to create a completely transparent nonjudgemental relationship. One way to do this is to have a dounut or two every few months to communicate your humanity, empathy, and not so out of touch grasp on reality. We all live with what I call real life obstacles but they are all things that we can overcome if we are gut wrenchingly honest with ourselves about what we want and are capable of. Just look at Demi Moore in G.I Jane. One-arm push-ups = very nice, passing all the other tests despite being ganged up on by all the men = awesome, the men finally accpeting her as an equal and saying they'd go to war with her any day = inconceivable (but it happened at least in Hollywood). Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. What are the things in your life that appear to be true that are keeping you from accomplishing your goals? Or am I a hypocrite personal trainer because I ate a dounut.
