Postprandial lipemia“huh? Hang with me while I try and explain it. It’s the triglycerides (blood fat) response to a meal. So, depending on how much fat or sugar is consumed in a meal, a person’s triglycerides will rise for 2-6 hours after a meal. These can rise anywhere from 120 to 300+ mg/dl and even higher for those who have diseases such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, or type 2 diabetes.
This is the BEST time of the year! Unfortunately, we make it more than what it should be, and it becomes the busiest/craziest time of year! Our schedules become so full and we hardly have time to breath let alone exercise. So, below I have made up a fun little workout called the 12 Days of Fitness. Writing this blog post today I realize that there are many many more certification agencies than ever before in the history of Fitness. When I first got started in the business there was only one IDEA. Now it is crazy. Some clubs require a basic certifcation plus if you are teaching a specialty class a certification in that class. My club only requested one but I gave them all. ACE Personal Trainer, ACE Group Exercise, and Zumba.
Some people are risk takers and some are not. Research shows it's not just a behavour but a personality. Are you a risk taker? It appears that I am although I never would have considered I was. My career in the fitness industry began in 1985 and through the years my personal accomplishments have been extremely rewarding. Recently I decided to 'go for it' and open my own facility.
