If you were to put bad gas, kerosene, diesel or water in your car that required quality unleaded gasoline, what do you think would happen? Kind of a silly question, I know. Of course it wouldn’t run right or it straight up wouldn’t run at all. How many of us stop and think about all the bad or wrong “gas” we put into our bodies?
With the Long Weekend holidays already starting for my clients followed by the very festive Canada Day, eating on plan can be very challenging. Using the strategy of the FREE MEAL is beneficial for holidays and events. It is very important to understand the logic behind the FREE MEAL and where it lies in the overall strategy of dieting: -Choosing WHAT TO EAT along with HOW MUCH TO EAT are the 2 key components of the FREE MEAL.
Super foods and convenience are two things that make health foods the most valuable nowadays, it seems. I love supporting small scale companies and health movements as much as the next guy as do I love shopping around stores such as Whole Foods, but to be bluntly honest: THIS STUFF IS FRIGGIN’ EXPENSIVE!!!
Juicing and the importance of the alkaline/acid connection I use my juicer 2 to 3 times per week to easily consume an abundance of important raw nutrients. Maybe you've heard that statement before, but what does it mean? It simply means that it takes a lot longer to burn a certain number of calories exercising than it takes to eat the same number of calories. For instance, it takes a 150lb person approximately 1 hour to burn ~500 calories, and that varies greatly depending on how hard you're working out. In 15 minutes, you can eat a Big Mac which has approximately 550 calories and blow your workout out of the water. Not to mention the sodium and fat content.

Traveling, a necessary evil. Eating right, also necessary and not so evil. We are all too familiar with the pangs [difficulties] of eating well while one is on the road, or at the airport. Not all of us have time to prepare our food for the day, so we are left to find good food choices in the quickest way possible. That usually involves fast food and/or some kind of processed pre-packaged food.
I've been faced with this dilemma on several occasions.
Foods that increase inflammation will increase your joint pain and delay your recovery. These include:
1. Trans fat (the WORST fat there is)
3. Processed foods
4. Gluten (for gluten-sensitive people)
5. Dairy (for dairy-sensitive people)
6. Alcohol (even your glass of red wine)
