If you were hunting or gathering in the forest a couple of thousand years ago you would need to adopt a practice of taking great care of the plants that were poisenous, and the animals that considered you as a potential meal. Small step, but I felt that she appreciated the time that we were together a bit more than if I had just been sitting there distracted. Or we may turn to our electronics to provide us with distraction, which can lead to gaming or gambling addictions. Today’s addicts don’t always have to visit a brick-and-mortar establishment to get their fix; online communications are making it easier for us to indulge with delivery services.
