Motivation is critical in terms of reaching fitness goals. Most effective when performing reps, or the number of times you lift and lower a weight, is counting down and looking at your dominant hand while you’re pushing up. By utilizing this technique, a positive reinforcement is automatically included because the dominant hand more easily and quickly moves the weight.
When it comes to fitness – whether a person’s goals involve losing weight, gaining muscle, or some combination of the two – people tend to be so focused on their body that they forget a key aspect to success: the mind. The bottom line is that you can have all of the fitness know-how, the best equipment, and find the perfect diet, but none of that matters if you can’t get in the right headspace to make it all come together and stick to your plan.
What do you love to do that is active? When you were a kid, what were your favorite activities?Answering these questions can help put some passion in your workouts. I used to love bike riding as a kid. As an adult, I pursued it again. I signed up for a race for a great cause, (MS) got fitted properly for a good racing bike and got all the gear to go with it. I trained with others and had a great time accomplising my goal. At the gym, I really liked heavy weight training. I got a trainer and learned how to properly lift and gradually got stronger.
Many friends and family have been struggling with sticking to workout programs, healthy eating, drinking more water, etc. In an effort to help y'all out I’m holding a workshop to answer as many wellness and fitness questions as possible. the workshop will kick off a 6-week program beginning in October through mid-November. Just in time for you to enjoy a guilt-free Thanksgiving and look fierce for New Years Eve! This is a new program I’ve designed so I’m doing it as a PILOT program which means NO FEE.

So, I'll bet you're wondering what I'm talking about, right? Now that I have your attention, let's talk about goals; and, our ability to successfully achieve them. How do we go about doing so?
Well, honestly speaking, if I am not very specific when establishing a goal, I risk becoming a jack of all trades, and master of none! Now, I know there are many multi taskers out there who can easily juggle many tasks at once, but, unfortunately, I have yet to acquire this skill. Frankly speaking, I admire and applaud these folks.
Memorial Day is a day of reflection for me.I think about all those men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrific for our country, allowing us to live freely and make choices. Choices we often take for granted. We are very lucky for their service and what it brings to our lives. What does this have to do with your fitness? Those choices that we are granted, give us the opportunity to change our lives every single day.
Happy Monday! Not just any Monday, the one after Daylight Savings time in the spring where you are a little groggy and "zombie-like" for the first few days. However, I'm sure many of you are willing to deal with the fog knowing there will be more daylight in the evening and warmer temperaures.
