In the front, middle or back of the class is perfect!  After all buzz words are location, location, location!  We all have our comfort zones in the group exercise environment.  Me?  Unless I'm instructing or presenting my favorite spot is about as far back as possible!  In the early years I often turned the class around where the back became the front and vice versa.  Please forgive me if you were in one of those classes!  We all have our comfort zones of physical space where we excell.  Group ex is one of those places.  Stake out your place

Did you know that anyone could go to a park or rent a space and offer fitness classes, claiming they are an expert just by putting themselves in a position to lead others? Scary, huh? Experience is great, don’t get me wrong, but knowing that you have a trainer who has been through a training and certification program to teach yoga or Pilates, for example, is important because it means they have learned from master trainers the safest and most effective ways to exercise in this discipline.

One of the most common fitness class misconceptions that I encounter is the notion that you have to be at a certain level of fitness or have some sort of expert knowledge or experience to join the class. This is so false! Fitness classes are designed to help you get fit, or maintain your level of physical fitness. There is no requirement that you need to possess a certain amount of skill to join a class, or that you have to ‘be good enough’ to take the class.

Since opening in August 2015, I’ve been asked numerous times if I have a drop-in rate for classes. Some of the reasons people give for desiring drop-in rates are that they want to try the class to see if they like it first (understandable) or that they’re too busy to regularly attend classes, which let’s face it, most people are overbooked these days.
