Not too long ago, a fellow trainer and coach extraordinaire, Eric Cressey posted about “How Being an Optimist Will Help You in Strength and Conditioning”. I read the blog post and definitely agreed how Cressey relating strength and conditioning and being an optimalist will create a better overall environment. A better environment means more results.
The holiday season is upon us. You’re feeling thankful that you’ve survived this year’s Thanksgiving, and all those commercials with smiling friends and families are saying, “ ’tis the season to be a smiling bundle of joy.” ’Tis also the season when numerous holiday parties, time with friends and family, sales and shopping, driving and decorating, laughter and games all take their toll on your energy reserves and soon to be, oh-so-fragile psyche.
Volunteering is an important part of my life. I started volunteering at a young age. My first gig was with the San Antonio Whitte Museum as junior chaperone for the Night with Egyptian Mummies sleepover. Since then I’ve broaden my scope of volunteer activities to include animal shelters, camp for mentally challenged children and hospitals.
