 That's the magic number. But, that’s not how many pushups or burprees I want you to do. This is the number of calories that equal 1 pound. If you take in 3500 calories you just took on 1 pound. Of course, this means, if you put your body in a deficit of 3500 calories, that's 1 pound you’ve lost.

Functional Fitness- For Stronger Living
Optimal is a term I use a lot as a fitness coach. However, I have found that within in the health and fitness industry, it can mean 3 different things. 1-    It can mean everything looks normal so we’re good here (avoid deficiency/fall within normal ranges/average/survive/status quo). 2-    It can mean everything looks normal, but some known healthy behaviors would be better (additional benefits/above average/thriving/stronger living).
