Caffeine… Caffeine is helpful but if we rely on it heavily it can mask how our food works or doesn’t work for us. After all, shouldn't food be our primary energy source? It is a drug like alcohol to be used wisely. When the last time you went off it intentionally and entirely for a while??? For stronger living,Tanner Shultz

I often encounter people  who do not realize how important or life changing taking the correct supplements can be for their health.  Many MD's will not encourage or suggest them because they were not trained on supplements in medical school.  The fact is an MD is trained in Pharmacology.  Hence, they prescibe medications to treat patients.  Ahhh..now that makes sense.  Patients trust the Doc, they go to the Doc and the Doc gives them medicine......

Here is a popular question that is often asked to me and I'm sure my colleagues. Question being, do I need supplements? Well, as most things in life that is a "depends" answer. In general, if you are eating a diet that meets all your daily needs in terms of vitamins and minerals, fiber, and caloric goals, then supplements are probably not needed in my opinion. Here are some suggestions I always ask people before they dive into the mysterious world of supplements.

In a little over a year since I became a full-time trainer for the YMCA, I've been approached by seven individuals who have a business proposal (creating a side business) that will supposedly grant me financial freedom.  I've often found these individuals to be a bit ignorant in what is permissible for a personal trainer.  Most of them are unaware of the fact that I do have a scope of practice to follow.  Most of them just assume that because I am a personal trainer, that whatever they have to sell (health products, supplements, drinks, etc.), will be an easy sell to
