This post was inspired by social media, the internet, and people I meet everyday just trying to find their way to eating better, weight loss, the secret elixir to the healthy life. Here's a scenario that we all have either seen, been a part of on either the receiving end or the one giving advice. It's the dreaded internet nutriton question. "How do I lose weight"? Might seem like a harmless question, but far too often people who are extremely unqualified to answer like to chime in as naturally they are just trying to help.
Key points from Monday's Eating For A Fit, Healthy Body nutrition seminar to help you shape your path to your health and fitness goals:1. Pick one day of the week and plan healthy meals for the upcoming week. Make a list of items you will need from the grocery store to prepare those meals.2. Go grocery shopping on a full stomach with your list in hand and buy ONLY the items on your list. Remember--you're on a mission, so stick to it! If you don't have healthy foods in the house, you are not going to be tempted by them.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and I hope you all will enjoy my blog post this week. Today I want to address the major issue that I'm still coming across as a personal trainer and lifestyle coach. It all comes down to food yep, one of the most important element for living a healthy and happy lifestyle and yet people continue to make the same old mistakes every time.
Tomorrow we kick off a challenging six week program. 2 teams of 7 will work individually and as a group to rally up by improving their body comps and weight. The person who creates the most change will win a years membership to Balance Personal Training's FIT LAB. Throughout our journey I'll be blogging our progress. Let's all rally around all these hard working individuals!
So, you want to lose 10 pounds! What to do? Well, notwithstanding the Holiday Season, there is plenty you can do to achieve your goal. You just need to allow yourself some time for implementing the first couple of changes and make sure you do not lose more than 1-2 pounds per week. Any faster than that, and your weight might be back sooner than later! If you “shed” fast, you do not build healthy life habits, you do not change your daily actions for a time long enough to imprint the new way of acting as your “usual” from now on.
This world is truly over-informed. Think about it. Every other infomercial has something to do with fitness. These 'Fitness Transformation' TV shows are running rampant. The internet is absolutely LITTERED with different programs that will all gurantee you the same result, "Lose weight in 21 days!" "Get diamond chisseled abs with this diet and exercise program in 30 days!" "Become a different, healthier, and fitter you in 90 days!"
A mouth full of fudgy frosting on your birthday, a fork full of toasty pecan pie at Thanksgiving, a cold bowl full of cookies ‘n cream on a hot August afternoon: These time-honored treats are among life’s sweetest pleasures, meant to be savored and enjoyed.
