Most wellness practitioners – like chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists, and massage therapists – generate clients through referrals from existing clients. Regardless of the modality, people want skilled practitioners that can be trusted, and nothing creates a perception of trust more than a referral from a family member or friend.

Dramatic Wellness with Megan Merchant
Driving to work at UNM, I felt overwhelmed to draw awareness to two natural occurrences:1. The tendency for us to easily follow as we leave adolescence and transition to an adult, and2. The need to reveal the invisible walls we place around ourselves so we are less limited. So when I arrived at UNM Ballroom, I wrote these words on the board: THE UNITED NATION OF BALLROOM

Boy, did 2016 fly by!  This was a year filled with many ups and many downs.....a true roller coaster ride of a year!  But, we've made it through!  I really can't believe we're almost in 2017!

Fall brings us a bounty of foods to enjoy after the harvest.  These foods are rich in color, texture, flavor, and nutrients.  Choosing foods that are freshly picked and locally grown allows us to get the most nourishment and taste from our food.  A fresh, crisp apple on a bright fall day; a warm bowl of butternut squash soup on a chilly fall night as the days become shorter; salads filled with colorful vegetables such as beets, carrots, and pumpkin seeds all lightly dressed with oil and vinegar with fresh herbs call to mind some of the flavors of fall.  I

I tell people all the time that fitness is not a destination....it's a way of life....it's all about the journey....blah...blah...blah! Well, just so you know that ALL of us are in this together, I have a short (and hopefully, "enlightening") story to share:

In some cases we can also see the factors within the practice that lead to those benefits.

Listening to a podcast today from Optimize with Brian Johnson about the power of positive thinking, I was reminded of a simple practice that can change your outlook quickly and easily.  By asking the simple question; what went well today, I am training my brain to look for the good even in the small things that happen throughout the day.  Thinking this way immediately made me feel happier.  The universe gave me a subtle reminder to take a moment to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, something I need to do more often.  So, my list of what went well today...I

The Healthy Life
We've all seen the advertisements. Workouts focusing on how many calories you "burn" within a given time frame. After all, it's what most of us want to know right? Cause if I burn so many calories, it can justify so many other actions that I take within the day, week, month. How did we get to a point as a society where our views have become so narrow minded, that the calorie "burn" is the only thing that matters?

Day 5 of our Personal Best 30 Day Challenge and my attempt at eventual transformation has proven more difficult than anticipated.  ARGG!  I am the leader!  I’m the one that has thrown down the gauntlet!    Am I going to let this challenge make minced meat out of me? I have stayed true to my 30 minutes of evening meditation however; my day game is way off.  Ordinarily, I wouldn’t beat myself up about this however; my goal is to augment my spiritual acuity, not redistribute it.
