Listening to a podcast today from Optimize with Brian Johnson about the power of positive thinking, I was reminded of a simple practice that can change your outlook quickly and easily. By asking the simple question; what went well today, I am training my brain to look for the good even in the small things that happen throughout the day. Thinking this way immediately made me feel happier. The universe gave me a subtle reminder to take a moment to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, something I need to do more often. We've all seen the advertisements. Workouts focusing on how many calories you "burn" within a given time frame. After all, it's what most of us want to know right? Cause if I burn so many calories, it can justify so many other actions that I take within the day, week, month. How did we get to a point as a society where our views have become so narrow minded, that the calorie "burn" is the only thing that matters?
Day 5 of our Personal Best 30 Day Challenge and my attempt at eventual transformation has proven more difficult than anticipated. ARGG! I am the leader! I’m the one that has thrown down the gauntlet! Am I going to let this challenge make minced meat out of me? I have stayed true to my 30 minutes of evening meditation however; my day game is way off. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t beat myself up about this however; my goal is to augment my spiritual acuity, not redistribute it.
