As the warm, sunny days of summer wane, you might find it more challenging to eat a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. Fresh-picked produce is less accessible, and autumn tempts with comfort foods and holiday goodies. Don’t let cooler weather and overcast days become your excuse to make unhealthy eating choices. Stick with your nutritious habits during the next few months to maintain a healthy weight, prevent colds and illness, and stay energized through the fall and winter.

Functional Fitness- For Stronger Living
So a long time ago I heard that you need 11 hugs a day to be healthy. I thought this to be interesting and to make sense but didn't know why. Today in my news feed I was hit with the why. A hug (and I mean a real heart felt hug) releases oxytocin (yes like the drug they give women in labor to move things along). Oxytocin has an anti-anxiety affect. It may also increase empathy (connecting with others) and emotional intelligence which may make us happier. Go get your hugs! Tanner ShultzFunctional Fitness- For Stronger Living

I tell people all the time that fitness is not a destination....it's a way of life....it's all about the journey....blah...blah...blah! Well, just so you know that ALL of us are in this together, I have a short (and hopefully, "enlightening") story to share:

Train With True
The value of a dollar was instilled in me at a young age by my Parents. "Money doesn't grow on trees" is a phrase I often heard when I wanted something.  I've yet to find a money tree; however, what I've realized in adulthood is...people spend time and money on what's important to them.  Whether it's travel, dining, entertainment, fashion, automotive, or a plethora of other options, we tend to make things we enjoy a priority and use our two most valuable resources (time & money) engaging in these activities. Everything else usually gets an excuse.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to be compassionate when you help others on their path to wellness, health and fitness. People come to you, oftentimes as a “last resort”, after years of struggling with either some medical problems or weight issues or nutritional habits. It is extremely hard for them to book that first date with the fitness professional, come to the meeting, sit down, open up right away and pour out all the worries, problems and stress, as they see the person for the first time in their life.
