Hope everyone is having a great weekend and I hope you all will enjoy my blog post this week. Today I want to address the major issue that I'm still coming across as a personal trainer and lifestyle coach. It all comes down to food yep, one of the most important element for living a healthy and happy lifestyle and yet people continue to make the same old mistakes every time.
Marketing, one of those things that can create confusion especially in our world of fitness. Here is what I think are some of the phrases we hear in fitness that may confuse consumers. We have all seen it from the words "toning" "lean" "weight loss" and the most infamous, "long lean muscles". Also "six pack abs" "bigger", "stronger", "shredded", and just get "jacked". I don't know if you noticed, but marketing words used as my examples definitely target specific genders.
For the past 10 years my focus has been on health and wellness through movement. I beleive that movement is medicine that not only helps us to feel better in our body but also brings joy into our lives in so many ways. I find Pilates and the MELT Method to be two extremely effective tools to make movement the best it can be, no matter what your activity level.
Fresh and raw fruit juice is an important and nutritious part of your daily diet. It contains a whole host of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that can help to reduce the risk of chronic diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disease, kidney stones, type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis.

While I firmly believe that short-lived New Years resolutions are not good for us-I like to tell people to form "habits, not resolutions"- I do respect that MANY people take the first step by making a resolution. After all, most journeys are one day, one step at a time. And making the decision to change is definitely the first step!
So I applaud ALL of you who have made health/fitness/wellness related resolutions!! Good for you!!
