Functional Fitness- For Stronger Living
Optimal is a term I use a lot as a fitness coach. However, I have found that within in the health and fitness industry, it can mean 3 different things. 1-    It can mean everything looks normal so we’re good here (avoid deficiency/fall within normal ranges/average/survive/status quo). 2-    It can mean everything looks normal, but some known healthy behaviors would be better (additional benefits/above average/thriving/stronger living).

March is nutrition month so I want to cover some nutrition information today. When you eat food, it reacts upon your body in various ways. One of the ways in which it impacts your body is in regards to what it leaves behind inside your body. Some foods leave acid, such as, sulfuric acid, carbonic acid, phosphoric acid, while other foods leave minerals. So foods can be categorized as acid-forming or alkalizing.

Functional Fitness- For Stronger Living
Hi friends who like a challenge,Spring is in the air, I think. I actually am really confused lately when it comes to the weather. Is it going to be sunny or gray and does that even mean cold, cool or warm? I thought I would write a quick post to give you some background on me and the current 28-Day program. Read as much as you have time for. I am a full-time personal trainer/wellness coach of 15 years. I’m thankful to have the best job in the world.

If you are going with the flow you're going the wrong way According to recent statistics, only 45% of Americans are getting the minimum recommended amounts of exercise. And those are just the minimums. Everywhere you look, it is still easier to find low quality convenience food than anything of nutritional value and exercise is more often "get it in when you can" rather than a committed item in your schedule. Don't get me wrong.

Redirecting Aging is choosing an aging path that is different than that often portrait by advertisements you see on tv and social media where aging adults are needy, having multiple chronic medical conditions and taking medications and drugs, incontinence pads, assistive devices, scooters, etc. that just flood the tv channels distrupting your viewing pleasure and other media. All these things maybe needed at one point in our life, however many  may also be avoided until very late in life.Aging by itself does not cause a decline in function
