Think being THIN is healthy, NOT SO FAST...
Women, it's time to reassess your views on being that size 6 and being HEALTHY. One thing I see everyday in my personal training clients as well as my LIFT TO THRIVE SENIORS especially the WOMEN, is this on going belief that "SKINNY IS HEALTHY, AND THICK IS FAT AND UNHEALTHY." But this is just not true.
I would love to extend my passion for all things healthy to you! I love to "walk-the-talk" on fitness and holistic living, research trends, and find solutions for others. I would be crazy to say I figured it out all on my own. I would like to extend an invitation of blog topic requests!
We take for granted too often the people who are apart of our lives. I know I've been guilty of that. There are people who are there for a moment, others a season, and some for a lifetime. For each person who comes into your life whether it was a good or bad experience--YOU choose to learn from it and GROW! BUT if a relationship is causing the life you have to be snuffed, suffocated, strangled, or harmed in anyway--do NOT stick around hoping for it to get better!
Tip of the Day: OVERUSE INJURIES....
Are you an everyday addicted I gotta workout for 90 minutes or more kind of gal?
Are you a I can't eat this, I can't eat that, I can't drink this, I can't drink that kind of gal?
Are you a I'm going to push myself even if it hurts kind of gal?
Are you a oh hell, my cramps are bad, but the gyms calling kind of gal?
Women of the past and present have always taken on a heavy load as the home maker and many today as the breadwinner to. Women wear coutless hats to keep the home and everyone around them functioning. That works great for everyone else, but then she is often left exhausted, stressed, adn feeling taken for granted. I am learning how multi-tasking doesn't prove to be more productive, but merely creates unhealthy stress. Hey I get it---sometimes we don't have a choice, but in fact we do!
Functional Fitness Classes.... What is that???
Functional fitness is nothing new, really, it's just basic calisthenic style exercises that help to improve strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, stimulate brain memory, create happy hormones for improve mood, reduce stress and anxiety, and aid in fall prevention, reduce injuries, and identify signs of dehydration... and this is just a few of what my LIFT 2 THRIVE Super Seniors learn about in my on going classes.
